Artful. Intelligent. Top Notch.
Wow- What a Great Find!
So sorry, can’t tell you much about Sound Goat Project– (or is it Soundgoat Project? Don’t know, doesn’t matter)- since there isn’t much to be found.
Three person outfit based in Poland.

And a host of guests who play some tasty, important roles on this short, impressive, awesome album of 36 minutes-and-change.
Some flute. Female and male vocalizing and vocals. Rap (!). Saxophone. Wailin’ harmonica.
I’m telling you, this one’s a humdinger
No pun intended- this one hits all the right notes for a progressive rock fanatic.
-variety
-tempo changes
-textures ranging from moody to gutsy
-sophisticated arrangements
-melodicism
-quality song-composition.
I could go on. So I guess I will!
My *Current* Favorite track:
This one’s a fine example of why I’m sitting here grooving.
After all, what’s more important than love? But wait, there’s more!
After a moody opening, the hard-driving full band enters. Great licks, guitar/bass/drums all working like a well-oiled machine. But a musical machine. Then a change to crisp guitar arpeggios with jazzy backing from bass and drums.
Then we get a passage with dreamy keys, and that quietly cooking active bass line that propels the track until the tasty drums enter- never overdone, always on the nose. Builds, the riff growing, the band steaming ahead, and bam! It ends with a bang, not a whimper.
This:
Can you resist the funky open? I can’t. Then the powerful riffs enter, and wait, that gives way to funky bass/guitar/drums…oops, here come atmospheric keys…
These guys pack more into a three minute tune than Van Camp’s stuff into their cans of baked beans. Or something. Sometimes words fail.
I’ll Stop Now
Enough enthusing. This one’s really great, and I don’t mind saying so. Great playing, great tunes, great ideas throughout.
